Every year, since 1991, the RACV Energy Breakthrough has seen primary
and secondary students, parents, teachers and community members from
across the state working together to construct drivable, pushable and
ridable vehicles and other technological innovations. Examining and
utilising the latest in technology, teams work in the spirit of reaching
an ‘energy breakthrough’ and also closely consider the impact that they
have on the environment.
Once a year the school groups make the trek to Maryborough in Victoria to trial their creations and compare how they stack up with the competition. Each team is assessed on a number of areas including; design, construction, display and presentation with the event culminating in Endurance Trials.
Cook & Bathe are proud to be sponsors of Flemington Primary School, known as the Flemington Firebirds. This year the Firebirds entered into the Energy Breakthrough Try-Athlon A even. We were thrilled that the team placed 14th out of 39 entries this year. They completed a whopping 178 laps in the 8-Hour Endurance Trial, a fantastic effort from the dedicated team.
