Pascoe Vale Retreat

Some homes just make sense the moment you walk in. Not over-designed, but considered, cohesive and genuinely liveable. Warm walnut cabinetry, richly veined marble, and a consistent run of dusk bronze tapware throughout. The Pascoe Vale home is exactly the type of place where getting the details right produces magic.

The Kitchen That Works as Hard as It Looks

The kitchen earns its place as the heart of the home. A sculptural plaster Smeg Concealed Undermount Rangehood sits within dark walnut joinery as the anchor of the cooking zone bold, but balanced by the Calacatta Viola marble running continuously across both bench and splashback, reading as one uninterrupted surface rather than an afterthought. The Smeg Ovens installed side by side complete the picture. Two full cavities, matte black finish, sitting quietly in the walnut without competing for attention.

At the sink, a Franke Maris Double Bowl sink is set flush into the marble. The white ceramic against that dramatic stone veining is a genuinely great contrast. Clean and crisp where the marble is moody and complex. Paired with a Bella Vista Mica pull-out sink mixer in dusk bronze, the gooseneck profile adds a little elegance without going over the top. The pull-out function keeps it practical too, which matters in a working kitchen.

The finishing touch and a brilliant one is the wall-mounted BellaVista Mica Pot Filler above the cooktop. It's one of those features that once you have it, you wonder how you ever managed without it. Filling large pots directly at the hob rather than hauling them from the sink is a game changer, and in dusk bronze it also works as a decorative element against the plaster hood backdrop.

Bathroom Heaven: Calm in Every Detail

The main bathroom takes a quieter approach, and it's all the better for it. Warm, organic, and calming. The Seima Undermount Basins are set into a continuous marble slab vanity top, giving the whole unit a solid, furniture-like quality. Walnut framed mirrors above echo the cabinetry grain below, and a single globe wall sconce between them adds a warm, almost residential glow rather than the harsh overhead lighting that plagues so many bathrooms. It's a small choice with a big effect.

The Back to Wall Bath in matte white is a smart choice. It has the presence of a freestanding piece without sacrificing floor space. Its soft, rounded silhouette sits beautifully against the warm travertine-look tiles, and the wall-mounted Bella Vista Mica Bath Mixer in dusk bronze emerging cleanly from the tile above keeps everything uncluttered.

Ensuite Retreat: His and Her’s Done Well

If the main bathroom is calm and orderly, the ensuite is where the design gets a little more personal. The Bella Vista Mica Tapware in dusk bronze runs throughout. The his and her basin mixers are wall-mounted in that signature round style that sits so cleanly against tile. The bronze tone does real work here, warming up the organic tile palette. It's the kind of finish that looks expensive without announcing itself.

The shower is a standout. A fluted ripple glass screen divides the space. A great textural choice that softens the boundary without closing the room in. The Bella Vista Mica Shower Heads in dusk bronze overhead keeps the finish consistent. The real wow factor though is the skylight positioned directly above the double shower. Natural light flooding into what is often the darkest part of a bathroom completely transforms how the space feels.

Small Room, Big Statement

Small rooms demand more from their design, not less. The powder room leans into this with a backlit mirror creating a warm glow that makes the space feel curated rather than compact. The centrepiece is the Bella Vista Mica Pull-out Hob Mixer Set in dusk bronze. The arching gooseneck spout and round handle have a quiet theatricality. In a room this size, the tapware is the hero, and this one earns it.

The Laundry: The room that earns its keep.

The laundry continues the argument that utility spaces deserve real design investment. The Teka Tegranite Square Undermount Sinkis generously sized. Because a laundry sink that's too small is one of life's more frustrating daily irritations. The Bella Vista Pull-out Mixer's bronze tone ties together the other rooms in the house. The marble splashback, with its beautifully rounded back edge, runs continuously from bench to wall and gives the room a finish that punches well above its functional brief.

Pascoe Vale Retreat-9

What makes this Pascoe Vale Home exceptional is not any single product or space. It’s the discipline of a singular vision carried through from the kitchen to the ensuite, from the laundry to the back terrace. When every tap, every sink, every appliance speaks the same material language. A house stops being a collection of rooms and becomes something whole.
