Moonee Ponds Retreat

Tucked into a classic pocket of Moonee Ponds, this renovation proves that a tight footprint and a bold material palette aren't mutually exclusive. Crisp white surfaces, warm timber cabinetry and striking black tapware run through the bathroom, kitchen and laundry, giving every space a cohesive, considered feel. Here's how it all comes together, room by room.

A Bathroom Built for Balance

Positioned neatly beside the vanity, the toilet and cabinetry share the space without competing for it. It's proof that smart planning can make a small footprint feel fully resolved rather than squeezed in, with every fixture placed to keep the room feeling put together rather than pieced apart.

The double shower is the heart of this ensuite, giving two people room to move without ever feeling cramped. Herringbone tiles rise behind a run of Phoenix tapware in matte black, with twin rain heads and hand pieces making light work of rushed mornings or long, unhurried soaks.

Wall mounted Phoenix tapware in black brings a graphic, architectural edge to the herringbone backdrop. It's the detail that shifts the room from a classic black and white palette into something with real personality and bite.

Moonee Ponds Retreat-3

Twin Bourne basins sit atop the Marc Richards timber vanity, each paired with its own Phoenix wall mounted set for genuine his and hers functionality. The generous bowl shape of the Bourne basins adds a soft, sculptural counterpoint to all that matte black tapware and gives the whole benchtop a sense of scale.

A Kitchen Built to Last

The kitchen picks up where the bathroom leaves off, pairing white shaker cabinetry by Marc Richards with a soft grey subway splashback and the same confident black tapware. A Phoenix sink mixer arcs over the sink in matte black, tying the whole scheme back to the bathrooms.

The Franke sink's black finish is as practical as it is polished, disguising everyday marks while keeping the benchtop looking sharp. Set into the Marc Richards joinery with its generous double bowl sink, it makes light work of everyday cleanup, giving the kitchen the same quiet confidence as the rest of the home.
