Our Favourite Resort Bathrooms

BY Cook & Bathe

What do you look for when choosing a hotel? Great location, a comfy bed, a buffet breakfast... and a truly luxurious bathroom that transports you from daily life into relaxation mode. Maybe it’s a huge bath that you can sink into, a spacious vanity unit where you can peacefully prepare yourself for the day ahead, or a view that offers both privacy and a window to a gorgeous landscape - whichever five star qualities you’re looking for, here are some of our favourite bathrooms from luxury resorts across the world.

The William Vale

The Vale Garden Residence suite at The William Vale in Brooklyn is a work of art. The all-white design is accented with minimalist accessories and sleek black tapware, a trend which, as we know, is a stylish way to add custom finishing touches to any faucet. The large geometric mirror adds to this ultra modern look, with a similarly shaped vanity and hexagon marble tiles to match. Guests are treated to amenities from L’Occitane en Provence, along with a plush robe and slippers for an all round luxury stay.

W South Beach

The E-WOW Ocean Escape suite at Miami’s W South Beach combines sleek black and white marble decor with a dreamy beachside ocean view. The elegant white Japanese soaking tub isn’t the only ‘wow’ feature; this bathroom is also filled with ‘smart’ tech-savvy amenities, including iPad controlled temperature and lighting, an in-mirror television, heated floors and a high-tech self-cleaning toilet.

Kandolhu Island

With infinite views across the Indian Ocean, you could be forgiven for not leaving your bathtub in this Kandolhu Island villa in the Maldives. The bathroom features floor to ceiling glass walls and a sliding door straight onto a completely private deck, creating an open, airy design which places the bathroom at the centre of the villa’s design.

A window onto the Marra River and Kenyan landscape in this luxury Sanctuary Olonana suite connects the outdoors with nature-inspired furnishings. This bathroom uses clean lines and refined marble and slate accented features throughout the design, with a double vanity, a large, sleek tub and a rain shower. The resort also prides itself on being eco-friendly, with solar power, recycled water and organically sourced materials.
